As anyone who has organised biowaste collections and recovery will know, if you get your biowaste out of the other waste streams they are all easier to recycle. Without separate collection of biowaste, it is impossible to meet high recycling targets. So biowaste is more than a feedstock. It is at the centre of responsible waste management.
So we have to now ask ourselves how we get the 74% of biowaste in Europe still going to landfill and incineration into these more circular uses?
